These photos formed part of a much longer expedition to both the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, as part of a youth expedition undertaken by the charity British Schools' Exploring Society (BSES). 6 November 2007 Advance party depart for the Falkland Islands
10 November 2007 Main party arrive Falkland Islands
12 November 2007 Conservation projects on George and Barren Islands, Falklands
17 November 2007 Return to mainland Falklands
19 November 2007 Set sail for South Georgia on Pelagic and Pelagic Australis
21 November 2007 Returned to Stanley, Falklands, due to engine problems
22 November 2007 Set sail (again!) for South Georgia
26 November 2007 Arrive at King Edward Point and Grytviken, South Georgia
27 November 2007 Land at Husvik
30 November 2007 Walk over Karrakata Pass to our new 'basecamp' Whistle Cove
in Fortuna Bay, near the King Penguin colony
3 December 2007 Separate team activities including bivvying on the glacier near Breakwind
Gap (search site for Shackleton's stove), and an Advanced camp at
Cape Best
11 December 2007 Part of team left in Grytviken, whilst rest of the group set sail for
the Falklands
23 December 2007 Whole team reunite in Falklands for battlefield tours around Stanley
and final 'yomp' over Christmas along the Mt Usborne Ridge
29 December 2007 Depart for Punta Arenas, and main party return to UK
